Provides care to patients; ages adolescent through geriatric receiving radiation therapy treatments. Acts as a member of the radiation therapy planning team. Major responsibility is to provide clinical physics service to the areas of radiation therapy, by determining the physical parameters involved in treatment by electron and photon while maintaining compliance with state regulations. Participates in the training of all personnel on new equipment and new treatment modalities. The position serves as a clinical consultant to Radiation Oncology physicians, providing guidance and/or direct intervention in resolving challenging situations and high-risk, problem-prone cases. Supports Quality Assurance in the department under the direction of the supervisor.
