About The Position

Want to join a team of daring managers who care without reservations or limits? Our St. Davids Medical Center team is looking for a(an) Medical Surgical Nurse Manager. The Nursing Manager will be responsible for the clinical and financial outcomes of designated clinical unit/units. Acts as a representative of the Director of Nursing and Administration. Collaborates with Director of Nursing and Nursing Unit Supervisor in ensuring competent, cost effective patient care.

Requirements

  • 3+ years as Charge Nurse, Care Coordinator or Supervisor
  • Documented experience demonstrating leadership, management, communication & interpersonal skills
  • Bachelor's Degree- Nursing
  • Registered Nurse license in Texas. If Compact License, Texas license must be obtained within 90 days of hire
  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • NIHSS certification required within 90 days

Responsibilities

  • Manage unit/unit operations.
  • Manage unit/units personnel activities.
  • Assure the acquisition and retention of qualified personnel.
  • Develop a professional climate within the nursing units.
  • Develop departmental goals consistent with hospital/system strategic plans and operations.
  • Maintain current professional growth through independent study, and attending in-service programs and workshops.
