About The Position

The Medical Support EMT is part of FSC's outreach support team. This role is a liaison between FSC clinics, resource center staff, and patients to address same-day and/or urgent needs. It is noticeably different in scope from traditional ambulatory EMT roles but requires the skills, knowledge, and certifications of such roles. This position collaborates with shelter staff, clinic medical providers, or other medical onsite personnel, responding to emergent/acute health needs of patients residing in resource centers in Salt Lake County and communicating with FSC triage staff to review healthcare options for patients. This role is perfect for people who: Have experience as an EMT working with medical clinics. Are proactive advocates, driven to fulfill service interactions with clientele. Demonstrate relationship-building, case management, and effective communication skills. Are driven to assist medically vulnerable populations, especially those experiencing homelessness. Have prior experience in outreach, community health, or case management Are comfortable working in a diverse, multi-cultural setting.
