The Medical Support EMT is an integral part of FSC's outreach support team, serving as a crucial liaison between FSC clinics, resource center staff, and patients to address immediate and urgent healthcare needs. This role, while distinct from traditional ambulatory EMT positions, necessitates the full range of skills, knowledge, and certifications associated with such roles. The Medical Support EMT will collaborate closely with shelter staff, clinic medical providers, and other onsite medical personnel to respond to emergent and acute health needs of patients residing in resource centers within Salt Lake County. A key aspect of the role involves communicating with FSC triage staff to ensure patients receive appropriate healthcare options. This position is ideal for individuals with prior EMT experience in medical clinics, who are proactive advocates, skilled in relationship-building, case management, and effective communication. Candidates should be driven to assist medically vulnerable populations, particularly those experiencing homelessness, and be comfortable working in diverse, multi-cultural environments. Prior experience in outreach, community health, or case management is also highly valued. The organization is expanding its team of dedicated, innovative, and mission-driven staff committed to delivering integrated health care to the community's most vulnerable members.
