Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of Medical Terminology course within one year of hire.
  • Minimum of 1 years, with 3 years of experience preferred, in medical office setting.
  • Strong customer service skills required.

Nice To Haves

  • Patient Service Representative or equivalent experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage provider schedules thoughtfully, balancing schedule templates, patient preferences, and clinical needs so patients can access primary care when they need it most.
  • Serve as a key liaison between patients, providers, and care teams, supporting communication, smooth workflows, and a positive experience across both administrative and clinical settings.
  • Maintain accurate records, process referrals, verify insurance benefits, complete patient registration at check-in and check-out, collect copays as required, and ensure all patient information is current and compliant.
  • Use quality reports and outreach tools to schedule patients who have missed appointments or who need routine or preventive care, helping keep them engaged in their health.
  • Provide high-quality customer service to patients and staff, answer calls with professionalism and warmth, assist with questions about appointments, insurance, and billing, and direct inquiries to the appropriate team members.
  • Collaborate with staff at all levels to improve access, troubleshoot when resources are limited, and support clinical desktops to ensure patients receive seamless, coordinated primary care.
