About The Position

This position is for a professional nurse within the Federal service, requiring a graduate or higher level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program. The role involves providing nursing care, including medication administration, patient assessment, and coordination of care with other departments. Applicants must demonstrate sufficient experience and/or education to perform the duties of the position, including volunteer work and part-time experience. Requirements

• Graduate or higher level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program.
• Current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse.
• At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in the Federal service.
• Completion of the National Council Licensure Examination.

Responsibilities

• Plan and provide nursing care for individual patients.
• Administer medications and vaccines.
• Conduct EKGs and Blood Glucose testing.
• Screen and evaluate the physical and psychosocial needs of patients.
• Measure and record vital signs.
• Coordinate patient care with other departments and outside facilities.
• Lead departmental teams and direct the work of health technicians and trainee nurses.
• Participate in Quality Assurance activities.
