Medical Staff Services Director
About The Position
Provides leadership management and operational oversight of Medical Staff Services. This position works collaboratively with CMO, the Medical Executive Committee (MEC), and additional medical staff leaders to plan, organize, direct and coordinate the programs and activities of Medical Staff Services. To ensure that the strategies of the hospital are supported. Ensures compliance with the accrediting and regulatory agencies (i.e. JC, CMS, State and Federal) in regard to credentialing while developing and maintaining a working knowledge of statues and law. Responsible for establishing, contributing to and maintaining continuity in the planning, development implementation of standards applicable to Medical Staff Services relating to re-credentialing, quality and administrative functions.
Responsibilities
- Supervision of department staff
- Preparation of yearly budget
- Coordination of Information flow between Medical Staff Services, Risk Management, Quality, Utilization Review and other departments
- Support and attends MEC and Credentialing Committee Meetings
- Support the Medical Staff Peer Review Process
- Provide oversight to physician development and orientation
- Provide oversight to the Continued Medical Education Program (CME)
- Ensure compliance and accreditation of Medical Staff
- All other duties as assigned
