About The Position

Provides administrative and operational support to the Medical Staff Services Department with a primary focus on credentialing and re-credentialing activities. This role is responsible for processing applications, maintaining provider files, and supporting onboarding and compliance tracking. This role is responsible for the day-to-day execution of credentialing and administrative processes under the direction of the Medical Staff Services Manager.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3–5 years of experience in a healthcare administrative environment
  • Experience working with physicians or healthcare providers
  • Experience with databases and standard office software

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or equivalent.
  • Certification through NAMSS (e.g., CPCS, CPMSM) or willingness to obtain.
  • Notary Public is a plus.
  • Previous credentialing or medical staff services experience
  • Familiarity with DNV and/or CMS requirements

Responsibilities

  • Process initial credentialing and re-credentialing applications for medical staff and allied health professionals.
  • Maintain complete, accurate, and organized provider credentialing files.
  • Track and monitor expirable (licenses, certifications, insurance, etc.) and follow up with providers for timely updates.
  • Communicate with providers to obtain required documentation and ensure applications are complete and submitted within established timelines.
  • Distribute and track privileging applications; review supporting documentation, including case logs, to confirm completeness and alignment with established privilege criteria, and escalate any discrepancies as appropriate; ensure receipt of all required documentation, including proof of professional liability insurance
  • Coordinate orientation logistics.
  • Lead provider and medical student orientation.
  • Prepare credentialing and committee meeting materials and files.
  • Assist with processing hospital and affiliation agreements.
  • Enter and maintain data in credentialing software and internal tracking systems.
  • Perform general administrative support tasks for Medical Staff Services.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all provider and organizational information.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Medical Staff Services Manager.
