We have an opportunity for a full time Medical Staff Services Coordinator in our Medical Staff Office. Reporting to the Medical Staff Services Manager, the successful candidate will act as a liaison between the SHC Credentialing Verification Office (CVO) and the SHCNC Medical Staff Office, supporting the credentialing and privileging application process. This position is full time, non-exempt and benefits eligible. The pay range for this position is $31.11 - $43.92/hour. Compensation is determined based on years of experience and departmental equity.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Three years in Medical Staff services and/or five years in hospital experience
  • Knowledge of accreditation and certification requirements

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred Associates degree in Medical Staff Services
  • Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) or Certified Professional Medical Services Management (CPMSM)

Responsibilities

  • Initiate requests for credentialing and privileges to CVO, including but not limited to appointments, re-appointments, status changes, LOAs and other updates.
  • Receives and evaluates the credential file from the CVO and coordinates the approval process per the Medical Staff Bylaws
  • Coordinates and collaborates with the residency program directors, medical schools and others to facilitate Fellow / Resident/ Student/ Observer rotations.
  • Serves as a resource to and collaborates with the President of the Medical Staff, Chiefs of Staff, the Medical Committee of the Board of Governors, hospital administration, and individual members of the SHCNC medical staff.
  • Facilitation and execution of the on and off boarding and orientation of all providers, and provide necessary information to the CVO.
  • Generates queries and reports from credentialing and privileging database as requested.
