Job Summary: Location: Methodist Hospital Address: 8303 Dodge St, Omaha, NE Work Schedule: Mon - Fri, 7:00am to 3:30pm Responsible for coordinating the Medical Staff credentialing and privileging program to ensure the program's integrity as well as compliance with the Joint Commission standards, Federal/State requirements, and Bylaws. Provide general administrative and technical support to the Medical Staff and Hospital.

Requirements

  • Two years of college or equivalent experience in healthcare field required.
  • Previous administrative experience in a hospital or medical office setting required.

  • Strong computer skills and attention to detail.
  • Medical terminology knowledge.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Must be able to handle multiple assignments/projects and respond to numerous requests.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with department director, physicians, and other members of the healthcare team is vital, along with the ability to problem solve and make decisions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to organize and manage demanding workload.
  • Self-starting and self-motivating.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum 2 years credentialing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and co-facilitates credentialing process of appointment and reappointment by preparing reports, having knowledge of the applicants and ability to identify potential areas of focused review and communicates this information efficiently to the Director of Medical Staff Services, VP of Medical Affairs, and physician leaders for medical staff membership and allied health practitioners.
  • Attends meetings, prepares minutes, agendas, and serves as a resource to hospital personnel.
  • Provides guidance, resources, and support to officers, committees, department/section chairpersons and all medical staff members and allied health practitioners.
  • Maintain current and accurate knowledge of all day-to-day operations of the medical staff office, including computer support for doctors lounge, support for hospital department needs.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the medical staff bylaws, TJC standards, and other applicable regulatory bodies.
  • Oversees related data entry/maintenance in the medical staff database and produce, when required, reports accurately from the system.
  • Interact with physicians, residents, medical students, hospital staff, and other health care providers in the community relating to the exchange of information required in the medical staff arena.
  • Support medical staff leadership in conducting their meeting management, review of credentialing files, peer review, and applicable OPPE and FPPE.
  • Assist in coordination of CME activities as requested by the Director of Med Staff Services.
  • Assist with on-boarding and off-boarding of medical staff and AHP providers.
  • Examines, researches, gathers and processes information to process credentials.
