Job Description: Astera's Urology group is seeking a medical scribe on a full-time basis. This position will be based in our Denville, NJ location. Astera is here to help patients overcome cancer and blood diseases, and improve their quality of life. Requirements

  • At least 1 year of working in a medical office, preferably urology.
  • Competence in Microsoft applications.
  • Knowledgeable in medical terminology and medical records.
  • Knowledge of EMR Systems.

Responsibilities

  • Take medical histories.
  • Accompany physicians into the patient examination room to transcribe a history and physical exam.
  • List all proper diagnoses and symptoms, as well as follow up instructions and prescriptions as dictated by the physician.
  • Transcribe patient orders including laboratory tests, radiology tests, medications, etc.
  • Document any procedures performed by the physician.
