In-Person Medical Scribe

Overview: We are seeking an experienced detail-oriented and dependable Medical Scribe in Belton, TX to join our team at a leading Behavioral Health Hospital. This position plays a critical role in supporting clinical providers by accurately documenting patient encounters in real time, improving provider efficiency and ensuring accurate and timely medical records.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework in healthcare preferred.
- Prior experience as a scribe or in a medical or behavioral health setting is required.
- Must be able to report to facility five (5) days per week.
- Must be willing to work one weekend per month.
- Proficient in typing and navigating EMR systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain professionalism in a fast-paced, confidential healthcare environment.
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of medical terminology and psychiatric diagnoses is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Accurately and efficiently document patient encounters, including psychiatric assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
- Prepare clients to see the doctor via telehealth platform.
- Input data directly into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system under the supervision of licensed providers.
- Review and organize patient charts before and after visits to ensure completeness and compliance.
- Assist with tracking and entering orders, test results, and other relevant medical data.
- Maintain the confidentiality of all patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Work collaboratively with clinical and administrative teams to support workflow efficiency and communication.
