This role is a key team player position in a constantly changing busy environment that requires accuracy, attention to details, initiative and a pro-active approach to duties and responsibilities while working with the individuals in services, clinical team, external entities, and colleagues. The Medical Records Technician must demonstrate a positive attitude, professional ethics, appearance, and conduct. All interactions with individuals/families in services and other LifePath Systems workforce members are conducted in a person-centered trauma informed way. Primary duties include but are not limited to: Serving as the Custodian of the Medical Record; processing requests within required timeframes for medical records for individuals in services and outside agencies; scanning and uploading external documents into the electronic health record; receiving and sending faxes while ensuring they are sent to the correct individual. Reviewing, preparing, and delivering records and associated documents as ordered by the court. The Medical Records Technician ensures compliance with all state and federal regulations related to medical records. This position requires occasional travel to other worksite locations for meetings and completion of associated medical records activities such as securing records, retrieval and uploading of medical records and record destruction activities. Occasional travel is required to locations identified by the court for the delivery of medical records as ordered by the court.
