About The Position

Summary/Objective The Medical Records Clerk is responsible for managing and maintaining patient medical records in compliance with regulatory standards. This role involves preparing charts, sorting, scanning, and filing medical documents into electronic medical record (EMR) systems, and fulfilling various medical record requests. The Medical Records Clerk must possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in EMR systems. Essential Functions Prepare charts for upcoming appointments. Sort, scan, and file all paper medical documents into appropriate EMR categories. Document and fulfill patient medical record copy requests. Fulfill medical records requests from insurance companies and attorneys. Obtain progress notes, test results, hospital records, and other correspondence as requested by providers. Answer incoming phone calls for the medical records department. Perform other duties as assigned by Practice Manager, Site Supervisor, or Team Lead. Work Environment This job operates in a professional medical office environment, utilizing standard office equipment. Physical Demands The physical demands include standing, walking, and occasionally lifting or moving up to 25 pounds. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position, with an 8-hour shift Monday through Friday. No weekends are required.
