About The Position

Youth Opportunity is a nationally recognized leader in residential and behavioral health treatment for at-risk youth. Kissimmee Youth Academy in Kissimmee, Florida, is a secure Youth Academy providing trauma-informed residential care for males ages 14 to 18. The program focuses on mental health and substance abuse treatment, offering a structured environment that combines clinical therapy, education, and enrichment activities. Youth receive individualized treatment based on their needs, participating in individual, group, and family therapy, as well as life skills training, restorative justice practices, victim impact awareness, and pre-vocational preparation. Licensed professionals provide 24/7 care in small group living units, and a licensed dietitian oversees nutritional support to promote stabilization and successful reintegration into the community. The Medical Records Clerk is responsible for organizing, maintaining, and coordinating medical records and related office functions to support facility operations. This role ensures accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in medical recordkeeping while supporting coordination between nursing, clinical, and administrative departments to meet the needs of residents.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of medical records experience required
  • Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data entry
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and attention to detail
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with staff and stakeholders
  • Valid state driver’s license required
  • Ability to pass background screening and pre-employment requirements
  • Flexibility to work varied hours as needed

  • Experience in healthcare, behavioral health, or residential settings preferred

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and organize medical records, filing systems, and office procedures
  • Prepare correspondence and ensure documentation accuracy and completeness
  • Conduct medical records audits and support program compliance efforts
  • Collaborate with site leadership and regulatory monitors to ensure licensure and contractual compliance
  • Analyze reports, summarize data, and identify trends related to medical records
  • Manage appointment scheduling and maintain calendars
  • Monitor and maintain office supply inventory as directed
  • Assist with facility operations including resident transports, admissions, discharges, leave of absences, and deliveries
  • Participate in required training and professional development activities
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
