About The Position

Medical Records Clerk is responsible for scanning paper documents into the electronic record for active inpatients records, discharged patient documents and short procedure documents. Audit electronic records to ensure the quality of the scanning, and accuracy of scanning. Check to verify the accuracy of the document type that was assigned either by departmental staff or outside vendor. The department performs this function seven days a week. Essential Functions Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in Health Information Management preferred

  • Scanning of documents for discharged charts into the electronic medical record
  • Audits records to ensure accuracy of scanning
