We’re looking for a motivated individual with a strong teamwork ethic who thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) medical records experience is preferred—but we are happy to train the right candidate who is eager to learn and grow. In this essential role, you’ll help maintain accurate, complete, and confidential resident medical records in compliance with federal and state regulations, including HIPAA guidelines. This role is vital in ensuring our residents receive coordinated, compliant, and high-quality care. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Typing speed of 45+ WPM
  • Basic computer proficiency and data entry skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Professional communication skills
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and move throughout the facility as needed
  • On-the-job training is provided for medical records and health information systems procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of medical terminology (preferred)
  • Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) medical records experience is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Organizing, assembling, filing, and maintaining resident charts (electronic and paper)
  • Ensuring records are complete, properly signed, indexed, and securely stored
  • Assisting with MDS scheduling and supporting compliance with OBRA guidelines
  • Managing record requests and tracking authorized releases of information
  • Supporting audits, insurance documentation, and regulatory requirements
  • Communicating with nursing staff, physicians, and other departments
  • Assisting with meeting documentation and committee support as directed
  • Maintaining strict confidentiality of protected health information
