About The Position

You support the Central Texas Veterans Health Care System. You provide medical record coding and Release of Information services. You follow VA, VHA, CMS, and HIPAA standards.

Requirements

• Experience as a Medical Record Technician
• Knowledge of VA or large health system workflows
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to meet deadlines and quality standards
• Eligible for VA background and system access

Nice To Haves

• Coding credentials preferred. CPC, CCS, or CCS-P

Responsibilities

• Code inpatient and outpatient medical records
• Apply ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and CPT guidelines
• Meet accuracy and productivity standards
• Reduce coding backlogs
• Process medical record release requests
• Ensure privacy and HIPAA compliance
• Retrieve, review, and disclose records on time
