About The Position

Northwest Human Services is a non-profit Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) and has been a leader in providing advocacy, quality healthcare and social services in Marion and Polk counties since 1970. We are a mission focused organization providing compassionate and professional medical, dental, psychiatry, mental health, and wraparound services for those in our community who need it most - uninsured individuals, families, the homeless, and migrant workers. MEDICAL RECEPTIONIST Location: West Salem Clinic|1233 Edgewater St. NW, Salem OR 97304 Job Status: Full-time, Monday - Fridays, with rotating Saturdays Limited Duration: Six months POSITION OVERVIEW: As our friendly, courteous, and professional Medical Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for patients, clients, and all others that visit our clinic. You will check patients in for appointments, collect copays, and fees, and accurately record insurance information and verify patient demographic information in the Electronic Health Record software. You will effectively communicate with medical assistants, providers, and patients regarding delays or wait times.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Interact effectively and courteously with patients and staff.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual in English/Spanish Preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain and prepare patient records, encounter forms, and other paperwork according to established procedures.
  • Perform a variety of office duties, including, but not limited to printing daily schedules, photocopying, typing, faxing, routing received faxes to appropriate persons, maintaining office equipment as needed, and preparing the mail to go out.
  • Assist in rearranging providers schedule when called away from the clinic, is ill, or has a change of schedule.
  • Provide phone coverage as needed following protocols from call center.
  • Schedule appointments.
  • Maintain strict patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA policy.
