We're specifically looking for someone who excels at resolving insurance and billing challenges while maintaining high patient satisfaction. Your ability to accurately verify coverage, explain costs clearly to patients, and ensure clean claims will be your most valuable contribution. Requirements

  • Experience with insurance verification and medical billing (non-negotiable!)
  • Ability to explain complex insurance concepts to frustrated patients with empathy and clarity
  • Obsessively detail-oriented – a single digit error in an insurance ID can cost thousands
  • Worked as a Medical Receptionist, Administrative Assistant, or in any Customer Service role in a medical office setting
  • Tech-savvy with medical billing software and EMR systems
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and can find billing solutions that work for both patients and the clinic
  • Maintain a positive attitude even when dealing with challenging financial conversations
  • High school diploma preferred
  • Current CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required for this role

Nice To Haves

  • X-Ray Tech, Medical Assistant or related certification is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Meticulously verify coverage BEFORE services are provided, prevent claim denials, and maximize revenue capture
  • Confidently explain costs, billing processes, and insurance complexities to patients in a way they understand
  • Proactively identify and resolve insurance discrepancies and billing issues before they impact revenue
  • Deliver exceptional service even during difficult financial conversations - keeping patients happy while handling payment matters
  • Greet patients with the warmth and professionalism that makes AFC stand out in healthcare
  • Process payments, schedule appointments, and manage patient check-ins with lightning efficiency
  • Maintain organized records while strictly following HIPAA regulations
