About The Position

Greenlife Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Wisconsin-licensed Physician (MD/DO) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to provide on-site basic primary care services to students (approximately ages 16–24) at the Blackwell Job Corps Civilian Conservation Center in Laona, WI.

Requirements

  • Physician (MD/DO): Active, unrestricted Wisconsin medical license Active DEA registration (including authority to prescribe controlled substances)
  • Nurse Practitioner (NP): Active, unrestricted Wisconsin NP license Active or obtainable DEA registration
  • Minimum 1–2 years of primary care experience preferred; experience with adolescents/young adults, school-based or community health, or underserved populations is strongly preferred.
  • Willingness to undergo criminal background check and drug testing
  • Ability to work with a population of financially disadvantaged youth and young adults (16–24) in a culturally sensitive, trauma-informed manner.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a small multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site primary and basic medical care to enrolled students, including: Intake/initial physical examinations and routine health assessments
  • Diagnosis and treatment of minor illnesses and injuries
  • Management and monitoring of chronic conditions within the scope of practice
  • Health promotion, prevention, and patient education
  • Review applicant medical files as requested and contribute to admission/denial recommendations when medically indicated.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans and document all encounters, diagnoses, medications, and recommendations in the Student Health Record (SHR) and required Job Corps forms in a timely manner.
  • Prescribe and manage controlled and non-controlled medications in accordance with Wisconsin law and Job Corps policy.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with the on-site Health & Wellness Director, Substance Abuse Counselor, mental health staff, and other center departments to support students’ overall health and employability.
  • Participate, as requested, in: Disability Accommodation Committee (DAC) and applicant review meetings Monthly health-related updates to Center leadership Job Corps/USDA trainings, conference calls, and webinars during scheduled hours
  • Help ensure appropriate referral pathways for students needing specialty or higher-level care (center calls 911 for emergencies; emergency response is not part of this role).
  • Support infection control, safe use, and cleaning of medical equipment, and compliance with center security procedures.
  • Provide occasional health education sessions for students and/or staff on relevant topics.
