The Medical Physicist is a member of the radiation therapy treatment team who plays a major role in the quality assurance of radiation beam calibration of radiotherapy units, patient treatment planning and treatment delivery as well as image guidance devices. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to: regular quality assurance testing and dosimetry calibration of radiation therapy equipment, patient treatment planning, physicist consultation to radiation oncologists, treatment plan QA, physics support for a variety of radiation treatment techniques including Volumetric Modulated Arc Therapy, intensity-modulated radiation therapy, Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy, stereotactic radiosurgery, high dose rate and low dose rate. brachytherapy, image-guided radiation therapy and brachytherapy, weekly chart checks, clinical implementation and research development

  • Regular quality assurance testing and dosimetry calibration of radiation therapy equipment
  • Patient treatment planning
  • Physicist consultation to radiation oncologists

  • Weekly chart checks
  • Clinical implementation and research development
  • Master's Degree (or equivalent experience) in Physics or Medical Physics. and 2 years relevant experience
  • Board certification in Therapeutic Physics
  • Treatment unit dose calibrations according to National dosimetry protocols for external beam and brachytherapy sources.
  • Physics consultation to radiation oncologists for radiation.
  • Radiation treatment Planning and Patient Dose Calculations (External Beam and Brachytherapy).
  • Radiation Equipment Quality Assurance and Records Keeping.
  • Treatment Plan Implementation. Patient Chart Dosimetry Quality Assurance Records-Keeping.
  • Implementation and Development of new State of the Art Treatment Techniques or Modalities.
  • 2 years preferred
