Sign-on and relocation allowance approved Benefits starting date of hire Competitive salary Medical Physicist The Medical Physicist ensures the highest level of accuracy and safety across all radiation oncology services provided by or affiliated with Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center (SARMC). This role performs routine radiation measurements, maintains precise records, and supports quality assurance across treatment programs. The Medical Physicist also participates in interdisciplinary meetings and chart reviews to uphold clinical and procedural accuracy. This position oversees all aspects of brachytherapy—including safety processes, procedural accuracy, and documentation—and ensures the proper commissioning, calibration, and ongoing performance of radiation therapy equipment. Additionally, the role contributes to key administrative and regulatory functions such as NRC documentation, participation in the Radiation Safety Committee, and review of departmental policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in medical physics or current certification by the American Board of Radiology (ABR).
  • Successful completion of ABR Part I and II exams, with full ABR certification achieved within 3 years of hire.
  • One year of experience as a Medical Physicist in a cancer treatment setting.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a Varian treatment environment.
  • Proficiency with external beam treatment planning: SRS, SBRT, IMRT, and 3DCRT.
  • Experience with brachytherapy treatment planning.
  • Familiarity with Sun Nuclear quality assurance systems.
  • Experience with 4D CT, gated radiation therapy, and Vision RT/OSMS systems.
