About The Position

A family in Hillsborough/SF is seeking two Medical/Personal assistants to add to a team of ROTA PA/Companions for the family. This position supports a senior couple with both personal and medical assistance. They are hiring for the day shift that is scheduled from 8am-8:30pm. It is a 12.5 hour shift, with seven shifts in a two week period. You would be required to work every other weekend. This is a live-out position. Family prefers candidates already living locally in the SF/Bay Area but willing to reloc The family is not looking to relocate anyone at this time. This role is hiring immediately.

Requirements

  • A medical or nursing background is required
  • The ability to travel as there will be occasional overnight trips with the family, and also travel internationally for up to 3 weeks per year (you will have a private room or lodging provided)
  • The family has a large dog, so the candidate must be okay working with a dog in the home- this will include helping with feedings, walks, and whatever additional help the team may need
  • Should already be local and living in the Bay Area
  • Seeking longevity in a role
  • Current and active LVN or RN license
  • Legal to work in the US
  • Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record and your own vehicle for daily use on the job
  • Tech-savvy is a must
  • Administrative knowledge base: Monday.com & Google Workspace
  • Prior experience as a companion for an elderly person or home health aide
  • Ok working with a large dog in the home
  • Passport Ready, not expiring within six months
  • Patient, kind and caring with a strong hospitality mindset
  • Ability to navigate direct feedback and firm direction
  • Organizational skills
  • Working vehicle for daily use on the job
  • Ability to lift 50lbs
  • Read and write English fluently
  • Comfortable with a formal work environment in a fully staffed estate

Responsibilities

  • Manage contact information and liaise with family physicians
  • Schedule medical appointments
  • Manage the storage and organization of medical records via Google Suite
  • Attend all medical appointments with senior family members and take notes
  • Request medication refills and pick up medication from the pharmacy
  • Manage the storage, organization, and distribution of daily medications
  • Vital sign monitoring and colostomy bag management
  • Dementia diagnosis
  • Escort senior members of the family on daily social outings and to run errands
  • Daily driving around the Bay Area required, 400+ miles per month. Use of family car when available. If a personal car is used, mileage reimbursement is provided.
  • Personal shopping assistance
  • Tech support and troubleshooting within the home and personal devices
  • Online research assistant
  • Calendar management: Google Workspace
  • Daily feeding and walking of large family dog
  • Event preparation and table service assistance
  • Travel with family domestically and internationally for up to 14 days per calendar year. Private room or lodging provided.
  • Keep senior family members' bedrooms/bathrooms tidy and organized
  • Prepare a light lunch, snacks, and drink service throughout the day
  • Formal table service
  • Assist domestic staff with meal prep, kitchen clean-up, and laundry service as needed
