About The Position

JOB OVERVIEW • Job Title: Medical Oncologist • Job Type: Locum Tenens • Location: DuBois, PA • Service Setting: Hospital • Coverage Type: Clinical Only • Coverage Period: April 13, 2026 – Ongoing (6-month assignment with option to extend) • Clinical Shift Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (30-minute unpaid lunch) COVERAGE DATES • April 13, 2026 – Ongoing PATIENT INFORMATION • Patient Demographics: Adults, Geriatrics • Patient Volume/Census: 12–15 patients per day • Admissions: Yes (inpatient consults) • Case Mix: Oncology and Hematology including new patient referrals, cancer diagnosis, staging, chemotherapy, and immunotherapy FACILITY INFORMATION • No. of Beds in Department: 219–228 beds • Trauma Level: Level II–IV • EMR System: ONCO (clinic), Cerner (hospital) • Office Equipment Available: Oncology infusion and treatment resources • Specialty Backup Available: Interventional Radiology for procedures such as bone marrow biopsy • Support Staff Available: Director of Oncology, Clinical RN Supervisor, Oncology RNs, Nurse Navigators, Medical Assistants, Clerical Staff, Pharmacists, Billing and Authorization teams • Reason for Coverage: Supplemental Coverage PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE • Hospital Privileges Required: Yes • Temporary Privileges Available: Yes (approximately 2 weeks for clean files) • Credentialing Timeline: Expedited options available COMPENSATION & BENEFITS • Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered REQUIRED PROCEDURES • Oncology patient evaluation and management • Chemotherapy and immunotherapy planning • Cancer diagnosis and staging JOB REQUIREMENTS • Licenses: Active PA license required (IMLC may be considered) • Board: Board Certified in Medical Oncology or Hematology/Oncology • DEA: Required • Certifications: BLS and ACLS required • Experience: Minimum 1 year experience • Other Qualifications: Ability to manage both oncology and hematology cases; inpatient consult experience required DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Provide outpatient oncology and hematology care • Manage treatment plans and oversee cancer therapies • Perform inpatient consults as needed • Collaborate with multidisciplinary oncology team • Maintain accurate and timely documentation

Requirements

  • Active PA license required (IMLC may be considered)
  • Board Certified in Medical Oncology or Hematology/Oncology
  • DEA Required
  • BLS and ACLS required
  • Minimum 1 year experience
  • Ability to manage both oncology and hematology cases
  • Inpatient consult experience required
