About The Position

The Medical Administration Instructor provides Job Corps–aligned instruction to prepare students for medical administrative careers while ensuring compliance with academic and program standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED (required)
  • 2–3 years’ experience in a related field (required)
  • Certified, licensed, or accredited in the state in which the center is located, or accredited by a  professional trade organization.
  • For National Training Contractor (NTC), instructor must be certified by union or trade organization, or  by national trade certifying organization
  • CPR certification
  • If the position requires driving, a valid driver's license in the state of employment with an acceptable  driving record is required
  • 1-9 documentation required to verify authorization to work in the United States
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and actively participate in hands-on training sessions to teach front office skills.
  • Develops and collaborates curriculum with department managers for hands-on training, medical terminology and medical laws/procedures.
  • Instructs basic medical office material needed for CMAA testing.
  • Promotes a positive and desirable atmosphere within the classroom/training environment,  ensuring maximum student motivation and outcomes.
  • Integrates math, reading, and writing concepts with employability, and Career Success Standards  (CSS).
  • Designs instruction to meet individual student needs, maintains a high degree of discipline within  the training area, and submits necessary schedule change information.
  • Designs curriculum within Job Corps guidelines to ensure students’ needs are met. 5. Schedules field trips, guest speakers, workshops, and other special projects to augment CTT.
  • Develops and implements career technical skills training (CTST) projects.
  • Meets with Academic Instructors to identify required skills that can be taught and reinforced with  applying academic skills in a technical setting.
  • Maintains an active Industry Advisory Council.
  • Submits Evaluations of Student Progress (ESPs) in a timely manner and documents student  progress for inclusion on the ETA-640 profile.
  • Administers accurate completion of the Training Achievement Records (TAR) in a timely manner. 12. Documents student’s progress in case notes at least monthly and records daily attendance.
  • Completes a monthly Accommodation Effectiveness Review for each student with a documented  accommodation.
  • Identifies and prepares potential students for the Advanced Career Training (ACT) and Advanced  Training (AT) Programs.
  • Assists students with the center’s ACT process.
  • Ensures that all equipment assigned to the classroom is properly accounted for and maintained in  good condition.
  • Participates in the Career Mentoring Team (CMT).
  • Provide support to the Career Development Services System (CDSS) department to ensure  student job readiness.
