About The Position

Description Job Responsibilities/ Essential Functions: Phone Coverage: Answer, handle, phone calls in a timely and efficient manner. Utilize appropriate telephone etiquette. Scheduling: Using general scheduling guidelines appropriately schedule patient appointments selecting appropriate visit type/length of visit. May be required to schedule meetings for physicians. Registration: Greets patient promptly upon arrival to practice. Accurately collects and documents time-of-service payments. Verifies/collects: demographics, emergency contact information, and insurance information. Correctly registers patients in system, including registration paperwork. EMR: Accurately enters information into EMR. Uses EMR for prescriptions, phone notes, referrals, outreach, check-out, scanning clinical documents etc. Assist with fulfilling Release of information written requests. May require managing reporting, surgical scheduling, managing authorizations and referrals, maintaining adequate supply inventory Monitor and sort incoming faxes and correspondence. Other duties as assigned Qualifications Minimum Education and /or Experience Requirements: High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Prior experience in an office setting with administrative tasks. Medical practice or other medical office experience preferred. Other Desired Skills, Abilities and Knowledge: Must demonstrate interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills are required in order to serve a diverse customer base. knowledge of how to assist patients in a timely manner with concerns and/or complaints. Be proficient in the following, but not limited to: patient registration, appointments, scheduling, arrival appointments, EMR phone notes, indexing documents within EMR, telephone etiquette. A working knowledge of computers. Knowledge regarding medical terminology, insurance, Electronic Medical Records (EMR) preferred. Makes appropriate decisions, using available resources, to achieve positive outcomes for patients, visitors, and staff in balance with sound business practice. Must operate standard office machines and equipment such as photocopiers, PC , fax, scanner, general office and communications equipment. Basic problem solving and decision-making skills required. Additional Job Requirements Details: Travel to other practices as required by practice leadership.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
