Responsibilities

  • Phone Coverage: Answer, handle, phone calls in a timely and efficient manner. Utilize appropriate telephone etiquette.
  • Scheduling: Using general scheduling guidelines appropriately schedule patient appointments selecting appropriate visit type/length of visit. May be required to schedule meetings for physicians.
  • Registration: Greets patient promptly upon arrival to practice.
  • Accurately collects and documents time-of-service payments.
  • Verifies/collects: demographics, emergency contact information, and insurance information.
  • Correctly registers patients in system, including registration paperwork.
  • EMR: Accurately enters information into EMR. Uses EMR for prescriptions, phone notes, referrals, outreach, check-out, scanning clinical documents etc.
  • Assist with fulfilling Release of information written requests.
  • May require managing reporting, surgical scheduling, managing authorizations and referrals, maintaining adequate supply inventory
  • Monitor and sort incoming faxes and correspondence.
  • Other duties as assigned
