About The Position

As a Medical Office Associate in the Neurodiagnostics Program, responsibilities will encompass facilitating incoming referrals for the EEG laboratory, including managing pre-certification process and scheduling. Will act as a liaison with referring provider offices to maintain relationships and improve communication. Will work with the Neurodiagnostic teams for scheduling inpatient admissions for Video EEG, ensuring prior authorizations are entered for outpatient EEG testing, communicate outstanding reports with physician offices and internal department and ensuring billing for intra-operative EEG services is processed in a timely manner. Will work with Neurodiagnostics department leadership to complete charge review, claim edits, and EPIC workqueue reconciliation. Will answer calls for the Neurodiagnostic Department and relay to appropriate persons as needed in a timely manner; responsible for ordering supplies and performing other administrative duties for the department as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum of one year of experience in medical office practice is required
  • Must be skilled in working with patient EMR records, advanced Microsoft excel techniques and can coordinate meetings within Outlook and Microsoft Teams
  • Need experience in insurance pre-authorization process for pre-procedure workup
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software including Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Experience working with an Electronic Medical Record is required

Nice To Haves

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree Business Administration, Healthcare Management, or related field.
