Job Summary: Assist providers in the examination and treatment of patients, performing various clinical and clerical tasks. Will primarily provide clerical support in the office. Directly reports to the Medical Office Supervisor. Duties and Responsibilities: Taking notes during patient visits and documenting them in the electronic health records system Learning about the medical process and using a team approach in patient supervision and documentation Working with a supervising Physician or Doctor to complete and submit medical records Communicating with patients and supervising Physicians professionally Preparation of treatment rooms; Intake/interviewing of patients; Measuring and recording patient information (e.g. vital signs, medications, history, etc.); Processing of orders to include entry, obtaining insurance authorization and referrals; Provide forms as required by specialty to the patient and assists with completion, as needed; Assist with the cleaning and restocking of patient rooms; Capable of sterilizing instruments, using proper sterilization procedures and equipment (e.g. autoclave); Uses professional and effective phone skills, providing answers in a timely manner; Clerical duties may include scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records and completing insurance forms; Willingly provide support to other staff as needed to prevent backlog and maintain even work-loads; Willingness to float to different areas as needed; Provides support to the referral team to complete all specialties referrals; Seeks guidance on clinical tasks from the Nurse Manager; Adheres to practice policies and procedures; and Performs all other duties as assigned.
