The Medical Office Assistant (MOA) of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation is responsible for outpatient throughput, including intake of patient demographics, registration, insurance eligibility and authorization, scheduling, financial counselling, and medical record management. The MOA is also responsible for assisting department leadership in office management, including ordering of supplies, maintaining equipment temperature logs and cleaning schedules, as well as the basic management of a safe environment of care. The MOA must be able to operate a computer to input and retrieve data, communicate with the population served, utilizing age specific techniques from pediatrics, adolescents, young adults, middle adult to geriatrics. The MOA must maintain proficiency in medical terminology and physical medicine CPT codes. Special projects or other assignments may be given with expectations to be completed in a specified timeframe.

Requirements

  • Previous hospital experience in a physical medicine office is preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology is required.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize needs to meet required timelines
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Customer Services experience required
  • High School Diploma
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)

Nice To Haves
