About The Position

The Medical Office Assistant is a staff member who performs to patients, duties to obtain clinical information/data, clinical CLIA waved lab testing, and testing on medical equipment, necessary for the medical office visit. This assistant is under supervision of the Registered Nurse/ Licensed Practical Nurse, and the physician/physician extender. Requirements

• CMA required
• Must be oriented by attending physician.
• Visual acuity to hear patient verbal communication and gather data using auscultatory skills.
• Must be able to follow directions.

Responsibilities

• Running daily clinic/Greeting and rooming patients
• Charting in the patient’s EHR – Medications, past and present medical history
• New Patient Referrals – Creating the chart and scheduling consults
• Sending consultation notes to referring providers
• Post Injection Phone Calls
• Reviewing and flagging UTOX
• Answering phone calls/Returning patients
• Veterans Affairs Authorizations
• Medical Records
