About The Position

As the Medical Manager, you will be an integral leader in our medical team. Focusing on patient care, client education, and personal growth, our technicians have the opportunity to rotate through all medical departments, keeping their skills sharp and getting a wide variety of Veterinary Medicine exposure. They will also be expected to use compassion and empathy with all clients, promote our core values, lead by example, uphold a high level of quality and speed, as well as work with a high level of professionalism. In addition to daily tasks of working on the floor as a technician as needed, you will oversee the management, training, and enhancement of the technicians under your supervision.

Requirements

  • High energy and passion for helping animals and people
  • Outgoing, positive personality with strong communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to work in a very high volume and fast-paced environment
  • Animal handling experience 3+ years (required)
  • Confidence in computer use and typing skills

  • Previous management experience (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Provides compassionate care to patients.
  • Performs all duties in accordance with clinic policies and procedures.
  • Assist the veterinarians in urgent care, surgical, and dental procedures.
  • Restrains pets for examinations or treatments.
  • Process all daily paperwork with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Responsible for being an exemplary role model in representing and supporting all company core values and customer experience values.
  • Educate and promote all services, programs, philosophies, agency mission, policies, and procedures to all clients and volunteers.
  • Establish highly effective relationships with volunteers and other staff, support all programs and gain support from clients and community stakeholders.
  • Working with volunteer coordinators to plan volunteer training programs and staffing.
  • Actively contribute and find new ways to reach organizational goals, maintain quality service, patient care standards, and customer experience excellence.
  • Assume responsibility for personal growth and development, as well as working with Practice Manager to provide training, aid, and correction to medical staff.
  • Ensure organization cleanliness and compliance with all applicable OSHA, safety, HIPAA and confidentiality regulations. Abide by all federal, state, and local programs. (State of Missouri Department of Agriculture, State of Missouri Veterinary Board, etc.)
  • Assist with management items for staff such as timecards, promotions, disciplinary action, coaching plans, performance reviews, problem investigation.
  • Manage monthly diagnostic and sterilization equipment maintenance
  • Complete weekly inventory audits and order placement for designated departments
