About The Position

This is a full-time teaching position with responsibility for planning, preparation, and presentation of quality instruction and for otherwise contributing to the fulfillment of the college's mission. This position reports to the Program Coordinator of Medical Laboratory Technology Program.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or equivalent required
  • Minimum of three years of full-time experience as a clinical or medical laboratory practitioner required
  • The MLT Clinical Coordinator shall be a medical laboratory scientist/medical technologist who is certified by ASCP BOC. Required

  • Experience in course development and in student instruction, supervision, evaluation, guidance, and academic counseling preferred

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for instruction in the appropriate teaching environment(s) and for evaluating student learning.
  • Responsible for class and laboratory preparation.
  • Participate in curriculum development, evaluation, and recommend new or revised curriculum.
  • Provide academic advising to students.
  • Perform department/program responsibilities.
  • Perform institutional responsibilities which contribute to the fulfillment of the college's mission.
  • Follow institutional policies and procedures and fulfill the terms of one's employment.
  • Adhere to accrediting agency requirements.
  • Maintain professional credentials; participate and document ongoing professional development.
  • Maintain professional competency in laboratory technology.
  • Fulfill other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisors.
  • Demonstrate ability to teach effectively at the appropriate level.
  • Assist the Program Coordinator in the implementation and management of the medical laboratory technology program.
  • Assist in coordination of clinical education as assigned by the Program Coordinator.
  • Assist in maintenance of regular communication with the clinical instructors.
  • Assist the Program Coordinator to conduct and document visits, complete written correspondence, and telephone communications with clinical instructors to evaluate effectiveness and compliance with program policies.
  • Collaborate with clinical instructors to ensure adequate instruction and appropriate supervision of students in clinical settings.
  • Establish and maintain standard methods for evaluation of student clinical performance.
