Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or graduate of an accredited Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Scientist program.
  • Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) by the American Medical Technologists (AMT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or A categorical ASCP certification in a laboratory specialty/subspecialty as applicable to job responsibilities.
  • Must be MT or MLS (ASCP) certified or eligible.

Responsibilities

  • Perform high-quality laboratory testing within trained and competency areas
  • Maintain strong technical skills and meet required turnaround times
  • Accurately document training, competencies, QC, troubleshooting, and maintenance
  • Follow established methodologies, procedures, and safety practices
  • Ensure precise patient and specimen identification and labeling
  • Complete required phlebotomy training (capillary and venous collections across all age groups)
  • Use laboratory computer systems effectively
  • Make sound independent decisions to support accurate patient care
  • Communicate clearly with leadership and healthcare team members
  • Participate in ongoing education, training, and mentoring of new staff
