Hours: Monday-Friday Part-Time Evenings; .3FTE (12 hours per week) 3:00pm to 11:30pm Rotating weekends and holidays Area: Core Lab Location: Loyola Medical Center, Maywood, IL No Visa sponsorship available and No F-1 STEM OPT extension program available About the role In this role, the Medical Lab Scientist is responsible for supporting the delivery of patient care by performing laboratory testing that is utilized in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disease. This includes waived, moderate and high complexity testing. Experience with waived, moderate, and high complexity testing in a "clinical" laboratory setting through education or work experience required
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree/OR Associate degree- Medical Laboratory Science Program Specific Degree(s): Medical Technology, Medical Technician, Medical Laboratory Science
- Laboratory certification required (ASCP or HEW)
Nice To Haves
- Certified Medical Laboratory Scientist (ASCP) or equivalent
Responsibilities
- Perform all laboratory testing, including pre-analytical procedures, in accordance with standard operating procedures and accreditation standards to support patient care.
- Conduct and document quality control procedures for tests, equipment, reagents, and media.
- Evaluate results and implement corrective actions to ensure accuracy and reliability of patient testing.
