Medical Lab Scientist
About The Position
Performs, calculates, reviews and reports laboratory diagnostic tests. Basic laboratory skills, maintenance, QC, and troubleshooting abilities. Understand the clinical significance of the testing performed. Responsibilities for teaching, training, correction of procedural/Instrument issues. The University of Vermont Health Network/Porter Medical Center is located in the heart of beautiful Middlebury, Vermont. We are comprised of a 25-bed acute care facility, a 98-bed skilled nursing facility which includes a memory care unit, short-term rehabilitation unit and a long-term care unit, and a network of primary care and specialty medical practices throughout Addison county and the town of Brandon.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in biological science or chemistry or associate's degree acceptable (with 5 years' experience)
- Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Technologist certified, or certificate qualified in the field. If certificate qualified, certification to occur within 1 year of hire date, exception or length of time can be modified by Administrative Director. (Certification tracked by department.)
