About The Position

This full-time Medical Lab Scientist/Technician position is located at Miami Valley Hospital South in Centerville, OH, and operates on a night shift (11:00 PM-7:30 AM) with weekend and holiday rotation. The role involves performing all laboratory tests accurately and efficiently according to established policies and procedures. Key responsibilities include performing and recording daily maintenance and quality control on equipment and reagents, troubleshooting instrument and result problems, accurately recording and reporting test results, notifying clients of panic values, and addressing client questions. The successful candidate will also participate in training new employees and students, and ensure compliance with all corporate integrity and safety policies of CompuNet Clinical Laboratories.

Requirements

• Associates or Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Medical Laboratory Science (MLT/MLS/CLS).
• ASCP or AMT certification (or eligible) or comparable required.

Responsibilities

• Perform all tests in an accurate and efficient manner following established policies and procedures.
• Perform and record daily and/or routine maintenance and quality control on all equipment or reagents used for testing.
• Recognize problems with instruments, reagents, test results and/or supplies and initiates problem solving procedures.
• Record all results in an accurate, complete and readable format, utilizes computer systems correctly to generate results and notifies clients appropriately of panic value results.
• Address client related questions and problems in a courteous and efficient manner, following department policies and procedures.
• Participate in training of new employees and students in appropriate technical areas.
• Comply with all corporate integrity and safety policies of CompuNet Clinical Laboratories.
• Contribute to the overall effectiveness of CompuNet Clinical Laboratories by performing other duties as required.
