About The Position

CompuNet Clinical Laboratories is seeking a Medical Lab Scientist/Technician to join their team at Highland District Hospital in Hillsboro, OH. This full-time position offers both evening (2:00pm to 10:30pm) and night (8:00pm-6:30am, Monday-Thursday) shifts, and requires participation in weekend and holiday rotations. The role is crucial for performing accurate and efficient laboratory tests, maintaining equipment, and ensuring quality control. The successful candidate will be responsible for recognizing and resolving problems with instruments and reagents, accurately recording and reporting test results, and effectively communicating panic values to clients. Additionally, the position involves addressing client inquiries, participating in the training of new employees and students, and strictly complying with all corporate integrity and safety policies. The role demands a high level of integrity and accuracy in test performance and results reporting, operating within a potentially noisy environment with exposure to biohazard substances and hazardous chemicals, and adhering to all safety and PPE requirements.

Requirements

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Medical Laboratory Science (MLT/MLS/CLS).
  • ASCP or AMT certification (or eligible) or comparable required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all tests in an accurate and efficient manner following established policies and procedures.
  • Perform and record daily and/or routine maintenance and quality control on all equipment or reagents used for testing.
  • Recognize problems with instruments, reagents, test results and/or supplies and initiates problem solving procedures.
  • Record all results in an accurate, complete and readable format, utilizes computer systems correctly to generate results and notifies clients appropriately of panic value results.
  • Address client related questions and problems in a courteous and efficient manner, following department policies and procedures.
  • Participate in training of new employees and students in appropriate technical areas.
  • Comply with all corporate integrity and safety policies of CompuNet Clinical Laboratories.
  • Contribute to the overall effectiveness of CompuNet Clinical Laboratories by performing other duties as required.
