The Medical Insurance Verification Specialist at First Urology is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely verification of patient insurance coverage prior to scheduled services. This role plays a critical managing and resolving insurance claims and accounts, ensuring timely and accurate reimbursement for medical services provided.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in hospital or medical billing insurance department.
  • 1 year experience working with Electronic Health Record software.
  • Experience with websites such as Availity, Experian, Navinet, Medicaid, etc.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (required); associate degree or higher a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Verify patients' insurance coverage and benefits by contacting insurance companies via phone, online portals, or other communication channels.
  • Obtain and document accurate information regarding patient demographics, insurance plans, and policy numbers.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of insurance plans, policies, and procedures to facilitate efficient verification and billing processes.
  • Process good faith estimates.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients, addressing concerns and inquiries related to insurance coverage and billing.
  • Handles inbound calls from locations, patients, etc. with general insurance questions.
