Requirements

High School graduate
Current BLS certification
Excellent and professional communication skills
Possess physical ability to lift up to 100 lbs.
Must be able to stoop and lift, stand, and walk without restrictions
Transports patients from patient care areas using proper lifting and transfer techniques and knowledge of use of wheelchairs, stretchers, and assisted walking.
Knowledge of infection control practices in cleaning equipment used in patient transport.
Understanding of requirements for patient identification and confidentiality.
Applies patient safety standards and patient management methods.

Nice To Haves

One year experience in healthcare setting preferred

Responsibilities

Works under direct supervision of the Imaging Technologist to coordinate transport of patient.
Provides transport by cart or wheels chair to and from ED, Medical Surgical Unit, or other hospital locations using appropriate transfer techniques.
Verifies patient identity prior to transport.
Cleans carts and wheelchairs after each use.
Cleans imaging exam room and changes linens after each patient; restocks as needed.
Assists technologist as needed in exam suite.
Other duties as assigned.
