About The Position

The essential functions for the Front Office Specialist include but are not limited to the following: Professionally greets and welcomes patients and their family/friends. Schedules appointments for patients in an efficient and timely manner. Answers, screens, and directs all incoming calls to appropriate personnel relaying messages between patients and clinical staff. Checks patients in for their appointments and out after examinations. Records patient cancellations and missed appointments. Collects copays and other balances on patient accounts Scans in variety of forms and daily correspondence. Mains accurate records and patient charts Calls patients for courtesy reminders of appointments Provides general administrative support. Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Knowledge and understanding of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and Compliance
  • Self- motivated and willing to take on responsibilities and challenges. Seeks better ways to find solutions and offers suggestions for improvement. Maintain production and quality assurance standards
  • Able to use logic and reasoning to evaluate alternative solutions
  • Personable, customer service focused, optimistic and sets a positive tone in all conversations
  • Possesses excellent verbal communication skills. Speaks clearly and persuasively, delivers information in a professional and courteous manner - multitasking
  • Previous experience in medical office required
