About The Position

The Medical Equipment Specialist provides comprehensive inventory, logistics, and material handling support to the Command and Marine Corps Base Hawaii medical clinics and annexes. This role ensures accurate tracking of accountable property, proper equipment distribution, and compliance with Federal, DoD, and Defense Health Agency (DHA) supply procedures.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English (read, write, speak, understand)
  • Ability to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods
  • Experience with warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, hand trucks, handheld terminals (HHTs), and barcode scanners
  • Knowledge of Federal, DoD, and DHA supply regulations and procedures
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

Responsibilities

  • Provide inventory services for accountable property across all commodity classes.
  • Review daily hand receipts, acquisition documents, invoices, and receipts for completeness and accuracy; report and document discrepancies.
  • Assist with updating property information in the Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support (DMLSS) system.
  • Support quarterly command inventory by validating property location, custodian accuracy, and barcode authenticity.
  • Transfer excess property and equipment weekly and prepare corresponding transfer documents.
  • Maintain complete property files and record all actions accurately.
  • Stage and load equipment and property of varying sizes onto delivery vehicles; ensure proper weight distribution to prevent load shifting.
  • Use pallet jacks, hand trucks, and manual handling techniques when loading buildings without docks.
  • Ensure materials are loaded safely to prevent damage; obtain signatures for delivered items and file documentation.
  • Coordinate daily distribution of supplies and equipment and support the disposal of excess material.
  • Inspect supply shipments from Medical Prime Vendor, GSA, and other purchasing sources.
  • Attend all mandatory training, including: Monthly process improvement meetings Monthly stand-downs Annual IT systems upgrade training Command annual training
  • Ensure adherence to Federal, DoD, and DHA supply policies and procedures.
