The Division of Cardiology within the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine is seeking a Medical Education Program Coordinator to provide comprehensive administrative, accreditation, and credentialing support for the ACGME-accredited Cardiology Fellowship Program. This position plays a vital role in ensuring program compliance with ACGME and institutional standards while supporting fellows, faculty, and leadership across multiple training sites, including UNM Hospital (UNMH) and the VA. The coordinator manages the day-to-day operations of the fellowship, including scheduling, evaluations, duty hour tracking, credentialing, and onboarding. Additional responsibilities include maintaining program accreditation records through systems such as New Innovations and ERAS, coordinating committee meetings and educational conferences, preparing annual reports and site visit materials, and managing program budgets and reimbursements through Chrome River and MyReports. The coordinator also organizes major events such as fellow orientation and graduation, oversees CME documentation, and serves as the primary liaison between the program, GME, and hospital partners. This role is essential to maintaining the fellowship's accreditation, ensuring smooth program operations, and supporting the Division's mission of delivering high-quality education and patient-centered cardiovascular care.
