Job Summary Design 3D/IMRT/VMAT/SBRT and/or IMPT treatment plans using computerized 3D planning system with optimal beam geometry, directions, and weights to deliver a prescribed radiation dose and spare critical structures in accordance with the Radiation Oncologist's prescription for patients receiving photon and/or proton therapy. Communicate technical information and provide support to radiation oncologists, medical physicists, radiation therapists, and other staff to advise in the implementation of designed treatment plans. Identify and contour normal and dose-limiting structures by utilizing images from one or more data sets. Perform image registrations with various data sets including but not limited to CT, MRI and PET. Participate in continuing education and quality improvement processes. Educates students and visiting professionals in the technical aspects of treatment plan development in radiation therapy. Participates in and supports clinical research projects.
