About The Position

The Core Medical Documentation Representative role at Cardinal Health is focused on ensuring all required medical documentation is complete and accurate to prevent delays in patient orders. This involves proactive communication with doctors' offices for follow-ups, addressing clinical prescribing questions, validating diagnoses, and resolving outbound faxes. Additionally, the role requires obtaining all necessary information from insurance providers to ensure timely shipment and delivery of medical equipment. The representative must demonstrate a high level of attention to detail, the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and adherence to departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for medical documentation. Success in this role also involves achieving productivity measures and maintaining standardized quality metrics, while understanding service level goals and responding to non-standard requests from vendors and customers. Individuals are expected to apply acquired job skills and company policies to complete routine tasks, seeking guidance from supervisors or senior peers for complex or unusual problems.

Nice To Haves

  • HS Diploma, GED or equivalent experience preferred
  • Basic math skills preferred
  • Medical and Healthcare experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Identify, support and demonstrate the Company's culture and values to ensure quality service to both internal and external customers
  • Physician interactions (verbal calls, clinical prescribing questions, diagnosis validation, outbound fax resolution, etc)
  • Demonstrates knowledge of financial processes, systems, controls, and work streams.
  • Reviews and executes according to departmental SOPs for medical documentation
  • Demonstrate understanding and successfully navigate internal systems: RGH, ICON, GRID, OnBase etc.
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment
  • Achieve productivity measures and maintain standardized quality metrics
  • Possesses understanding of service level goals and objectives
  • Demonstrates ability to respond to non-standard requests from vendors and customers.
  • Possesses strong organizational skills and prioritizes getting the right things done.
