About The Position

Medical Director – Crisis Services Lead. Inspire. Transform Crisis Care. About The Centers At The Centers, we are reimagining how crisis care is delivered. As our Medical Director of Crisis Services, you’ll oversee psychiatric care in our 40-chair psychiatric emergency department and 16-bed voluntary crisis stabilization unit, working side-by-side with a passionate multidisciplinary team. Our newest location (opening in late August 2026) will serve as Cuyahoga County’s first 24/7, walk-in behavioral health urgent care and stabilization center, offering people in crisis a safe, welcoming alternative to emergency rooms, jail, or the streets while providing symptom stabilization, connection to community resources and facilitating reintegration into the community. This is more than a leadership role — it’s an opportunity to directly shape the future of behavioral health in our community. The Opportunity We are seeking a Medical Director of Crisis Services to oversee psychiatric care across our Crisis Receiving Center, which includes a 40-chair psychiatric emergency department and a 16-bed voluntary crisis stabilization unit, in collaboration with our on-site detox program.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited medical school (MD/DO).
  • Board Certification in Psychiatry (required).
  • Ohio Medical License (or eligibility).
  • 3–5 years’ experience in crisis services, behavioral health, or substance use treatment.
  • Leadership and management experience in behavioral health preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Addiction Psychiatry Board Certification (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical leadership and direct psychiatric care within crisis services.
  • Supervise and mentor clinical staff, ensuring adherence to evidence-based practices.
  • Conduct psychiatric assessments, prescribe medications, and oversee treatment planning.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as accreditation standards.
  • Monitor program outcomes, support quality improvement, and contribute to organizational strategy.
  • Respond to medical and psychiatric emergencies as needed.
