About The Position

Medical Director, The Behavioral Crisis Services Relocation Bonus $8,000 Our newest location (opening in late August 2026) will serve as Cuyahoga County’s first 24/7, walk-in behavioral health urgent care and stabilization center, offering people in crisis a safe, welcoming alternative to emergency rooms, jail, or the streets while providing symptom stabilization, connection to community resources and facilitating reintegration into the community. We are seeking a Medical Director of Crisis Services to oversee psychiatric care across our Crisis Receiving Center, which includes a 40-chair psychiatric emergency department and a 16-bed voluntary crisis stabilization unit, in collaboration with our on-site detox program. Requirements

Graduate of an accredited medical school (MD/DO).
Board Certification in Psychiatry (required).
Ohio Medical License (or eligibility).
3–5 years’ experience in crisis services, behavioral health, or substance use treatment.
Leadership and management experience in behavioral health preferred.

Nice To Haves

Addiction Psychiatry Board Certification (preferred).

Responsibilities

Provide clinical leadership and direct psychiatric care within crisis services.
Supervise and mentor clinical staff, ensuring adherence to evidence-based practices.
Conduct psychiatric assessments, prescribe medications, and oversee treatment planning.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as accreditation standards.
Monitor program outcomes, support quality improvement, and contribute to organizational strategy.
Respond to medical and psychiatric emergencies as needed.
Lead crisis psychiatric care with compassion and expertise.
Mentor and support a team of clinicians, nurses, and peers.
Provide direct psychiatric assessments and treatment when needed.
Respond to medical/psychiatric emergencies.
Ensure high standards of care, compliance, and continuous quality improvement.
