About The Position

Ready to lead a hospital while still practicing medicine the way you believe it should be practiced? At Bedford Veterinary Medical Centre, our Medical Director role allows you to guide medical standards, mentor the team, and influence hospital direction — without stepping away from patient care. Experienced full-time veterinarians can receive a customized first-year compensation package totaling up to $200K, based on experience. Choose the structure that fits your goals — higher guaranteed base salary or a larger signing bonus. You’ll also receive production pay, schedule flexibility, true paid time off, and strong operational support so leadership responsibilities don’t turn into administrative overload. This is a clinical leadership position — not a desk job. Bedford Veterinary Medical Centre is a well-established small animal practice built around consistency, efficiency, and a respectful team culture. Our doctors are trusted to practice medicine thoughtfully — not rushed or production-driven. You’ll lead a team supported by experienced technicians and staff who understand workflow and value collaboration. This is an ideal opportunity for a veterinarian who wants leadership influence while still enjoying day-to-day clinical practice. Bedford offers the convenience of small-town living with easy access to city amenities. You’ll enjoy a low cost of living, short commutes, and a welcoming community — while still being close to larger hubs. Located just 30 minutes from Bloomington and about an hour from Indianapolis, you’ll have quick access to restaurants, shopping, and entertainment without daily traffic. For time off, the area is surrounded by outdoor recreation including Hoosier National Forest, Spring Mill State Park, and Bluespring Caverns — perfect for hiking, kayaking, or simply unplugging after work. Bedford is a great fit for veterinarians looking for a comfortable pace of life and the ability to truly disconnect outside of the hospital. CareVet is a network of veterinary hospitals that focuses on managing best-in-class hospitals with a mission to provide the very best care for our pets and our Team Members. Our approach to veterinary medicine focuses on practice legacy, team, Veterinarians, patients and community.
