This position will provide an opportunity for a physician to begin in a clinical role familiarizing themselves with the organization, becoming the Medical Director no later than July 2025. This position is available due to growth in the organization. The current Bakersfield Medical Director is transferring to a new location and the organization is seeking to hire a replacement now, having that physician work in a clinical capacity while also training for the Director role, then transitioning to the administrative position. The Medical Director position is 80% administrative and 20% clinical. The details of the initial clinical role and the work the Medical Director will oversee are: The physician will work within a program of all-inclusive care for the elderly (PACE), which provides comprehensive medical and social services to eligible at-risk participants. The physician performs in-person comprehensive assessments and coordinates with an interdisciplinary care team to develop individual care plans for participants. Providers see 5 to 6 patients per day, allowing for full and attentive visits. The total patient panel is only 120 to 130 individuals. Physicians are supported by an interdisciplinary team that includes a nurse, registered dietician, social worker, transportation worker, physical/occupational therapist, and a center manager, whom they meet with regularly. The organization uses an EHR and provides ample support and resources to the physicians.
